From March 01, 2006 -February 28, 2007 we conducted 210 activities, with 12.795 participants, of which 5.890 females (46%). The trainings made the students feel aware of themselves and of others around them. In addition, the students showed improved analytical and critical skills, as they began to explore and share information with each other, and work in groups for social activities. Increased solidarity is one of the results of the trainings.
Additionally, it was found that more than 90 percent of the participants put lessons learnt by YFP into actual practice. The students do so in their day-to-day behavior, such as using good listening skills, not interrupting the other, managing anger, thinking critically before doing something, being friendly, tolerant and not discriminatory. Several students also mentioned that they are actively involved in solving conflicts or problems of others, spreading information on topics such as HIV/AIDS, domestic violence, the environment, and drugs. This information is very important to assess YFP's impact; after all, this is what it is all about, as knowledge without acting remains an empty concept.
