Board Members

Thida 

Mrs. Thida Khus is currently the Executive Director of SILAKA, a support agency that work to build management and administrative capacity to local and public organizations in Cambodia. She has been active in the field of peace and non violence in Cambodia since 1997. She is also the advocate on women issues in the political arena in Phnom Penh.
She provides support and nurture local organizations and public institutions so they can become viable organizations in the newly formed democratic society of Cambodia. She links organizations and concerned citizens in the movement to campaign against non violence prior to the 1998 election in Cambodia. She currently serves as a Board member of 3 local organizations, The Open Forum, Youth For Peace, and Youth Star. She has been appointed as the adviser to the Cambodian National Council of Cambodia in 2005. She was a member of the NGO delegation to the United Nations, when Cambodia presented the country CEDAW report to the CEDAW committee in New York in January 2006.

   
 Christina 

Kristina Chhim is a modern historian with a PhD from Humboldt University, Berlin on the development of the Cambodian People’s Party in the 1980s.
From Jan 2001 to Dec 2004 she managed the Civil Peace Service program of the German Development Service in Cambodia (DED) and supervised eight German development experts partnered to local NGOs.
In Jan 2005 she became the Center for Advanced Study’s (CAS) senior research coordinator. Her current research interests are ethnic minorities, conflict resolution, and civil society in Cambodia.
Since March 2007 she is team leader for CAS’ research on Cambodian civil society capacity on social accountability (CCSA) funded by the World Bank. This study aims to explore experience in civic engagement and social accountability, and to contribute to better understanding how citizens can contribute more directly to promoting good governance.

   
Munichanto 

Rin Munychanto, a former monk won a scholarship to
International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University (ITBMU) in Burma in 2002.
He works for SILAKA organization since 2005. He is a lecturer on cultural study at Khemarak University and also a guest lecturer on spiritual training (mental culture) to build peace of mind.
